COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food, and the Arts
Location
Napa, CA
Client
The Robert Mondavi Corporation
Cost
$50M
Inspired by the late Robert Mondavi's dream to found a center with a mission to educate and promote excellence in the culinary, oenological, and visual arts, the Center for Wine, Food, and the Arts is intimately connected to the Napa River.
Located on a 13-acre site, COPIA comprises public meeting rooms, art galleries, a cafe, and permanent exhibition space. The design stresses the interdependence between the building and landscape, mirroring the Center's connection to the local community. COPIA serves as one of the Culinary Institute of America's (CIA) branch campuses in the heart of Napa, California.
